Maybe the Electric Ballroom will be the chosen venue for the Aftershows a la Indigo2?

That would mean he would be doing a large gig somewhere like the O2, no way could they arrange that at short notice, 1000 capacity is probably the right size for a couple of hit n run shows at short notice to publicise the new album, doubt there will be much chance of getting tickets.

Maybe. We'll find out soon enough...I'm off to bed!!

Photo from inside the venue at the moment while they set up and do sound check, I cant see all these shows being here, they know they can sell larger venues than this in a heartbeat. Id like to see maybe the Indigo have a series of shows and an aftershow smewhere like this?

kiran just retweeted a pic inside of the stage. It's tiny. sad Wish I was there..

Also the fact that this is called a soundcheck suggests that there will be a gig there tomorrow no?

I would expect they would let people in if they have put up barriers (unless they are there to keep people out).

The weather generally is very poor - and of course the Tube strike has kicked in so public transport is limited.

Good luck to all queuing.

Yes, good luck to the die hards queuing outside in the cold and rain for something they might not even get access to. I salute you!

do other bands or artists do this kind of stuff too? and would anyone show up? i never quite

know wether it's just sort of bad manners of prince or wether it's actually super cool that

he does this kind of stuff.

This is growing very preposterous now. I do see a positive see though as I suddenly have an idea for a book or a blog about a front runner who had a huge amount if support but subsequentky took supporters to court for publicising their support which dimished the fan base and later kept a large section of supporters at a distance so they were not there when he next competed for a gold medal. Sorry, but due to possible legal action I can't say who I am referring to. See you later in the week tho?

this is why i don't go see him live anymore. i just made that choice for myself.

it's always smoke and mirrors and all these cheesy games. i still love his stuff

and buy everything he releases. but i'm done with live shows. especially since

these hit n run things started up. it's too much strain on the heart lol

/

but i wish all you UK people good luck at getting tickets. i'm sure that if you

hang on a little bit longer you'll find out some more and probably even get to

buy tickets. if you're still enjoying live shows and love seeing the man in real

life, any hassle is probably quickly forgotten when you're standing there smile

See, I'm getting old, all this running about, constant refreshing, nervously trying to get tickets, I wonder if I can do it these days. However, I'm struggling to see how I could possibly be happy knowing there are gigs going on and that I'm not a part of them.

I made it to two O2 main shows and 1 indigo2 aftershow (the best one in my opinion too) and I remember consoling myself on the other nights knowing that my time was to come/or had already been. I also managed all the other major UK tours from my teenage years onwards. Can I just give up now?

You made a brave choice.

Ok, I'm in bed. All I wanted was dates and to know when we could buy tickets. We've gone form tour starts 3rd feb, to nope, that's a press conference, except its on the 4th and you aren't going to hear any details until the 5th. What was it Danny glover said in the lethal weapon movies. I'm too old for this shit. And I'm too old for queuing in the wind and the rain. I want to sit on my arse and buy the tickets so that I can stroll up 5 minutes before the show starts.

That's it, I'm off to Bieber.org now.
RIP sad

Queue forming. Wet feet. But crowd love prince anyway...I hope all get in but a bit guestlisty at the moment. Some indie musicians going in

Another few tweets saying it's a guest list only event.

Fair play that a good number of people kept the secret. Be a bit shit paying to 100 people in the ballroom though. Hope, and I think they will, let the few people who camp out for three hours in cold, wet and wind - they certianly deserve it.

The trails and tribulations of being a Prince fan. Two days and no closer to a ticket link.

we mere mortals salute you, sir.

I know I'm old but I don't think I'm actually immortal. If I didn't have to be up at 5.30 tomorrow morning for work I would definitely cycle over to Camden and queue up. I think everyone there will get in one way or another. Security guards can usually do with an extra few quid if you know what I mean.

WILSO

From Washington post online:

LONDON — When Prince came to London a few years ago, he played more than 20 nights at the vast O2 arena. This time, he played a suburban living room for a dozen people.

The enigmatic star arrived Tuesday at the start of a string of dates in support of his forthcoming album “PlectrumElectrum,” recorded with all-female trio 3RDEYEGIRL.

Prince says he hopes to play “iconic” venues along the lines of music pub the Bag o’ Nails, the storied Electric Ballroom and Ronnie Scott’s jazz club.

He says: “We’ll work our way up, if people like us, to bigger venues.”

His first stop was the home of British soul singer Lianne LaHavas, who met Prince last year while she was touring the United States.
